Yesterdays Fun

This afternoon we made our way to the Space Needle. After paying a ridiculous sum of money we went up. It was a pretty view of the harbor but it did not come close to the thrill on the CN Tower in Toronto which is three times higher than this tower.

.

We still had three hours of paid parking left so we decided to take a ride on the monorail. This was way cheaper at $4.00 round trip per person. We wanted to see where we ended up

It was a fun ride. I couldn't help thinking of an episode of The Simpsons which featured a monorail disaster. Our monorail driver did not resemble Homer Simpson at all to my relief. It was fun. When we got off at the stop I noticed across the street a cable car that runs from Union Bay Hutchinson Center to downtown. I want to check that out. Parking downtown costs about $10.00 and hour!

We walked toward the harbor and found ourselves at Pike Place Market. We wandered around there for awhile. We stopped to share an order of fish and chips. We went over to a little park over looking the harbor and saw a drug deal go down . I got a little freaked out but John did not seem to think we were in any danger. We decided to move along. Seattle seems to be full of colorful characters.

I loved all the brick roads and all the old buildings. This wall was full of posters of coming and of long past events.

Here is a seagull for Jientje. I think she will appreciate it. I thought of her when I took it.

I will post a lot of pectures over the next few days. When David got here he showed me how to download from my memory stick. It turns out that I do not need a cord. You can quit looking Angela.

Tomorrow we have the first appointment at the Cross Cancer Alliance. We probably won't be able to play tourist again untill the weekend. We want to take a tour of the Seattle underground. I think it is kind of like Moose Jaw underground. The ad says: DIRT - CORRUPTION - SEWERS - SCANDAL and that is the family tour. You can take an adult tour that promises: OPIUM - GRAFT - SEX - DEBAUCHERY for $21.00 but that includes a cocktail! We passed by Macy's on the way back to the monorail. I want to go there to look around. We only had time to window shop. We saw some very large stuffed animals. I liked the very large elephant but sadly do not have the $750.00 with which to buy it.

There is lots to do in Seattle. I think it will be awhile before we run out of ideas.

Where on earth would you put a giant stuffed elephant?

(To everyone but mom: Don't google Cross Cancer Alliance. All that will come up is Mom's blog. I'm assuming she means Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.)

@ Becky...I would find a place for the elephant! I don't know where I got Cross Cancer Alliance from. Do you?

Hey, to think that you, all the way over in Seattle take a picture of a seagull and think of me?
Appreciation is an understatement Christine, it moves me! I love it!
I'm glad you guys are having a good time there!

Sounds like you are having fun. Believe it or not I STILL have not done the Seattle underground, although my mother has. I hope you enjoy it.

Glad to see you enjoying yourself. Are there any other birds? I see plenty of seagulls right here.
