Sweater For My Sweetie

Row 54

Isn't that a cute couple in the pattern book? After I finish John's sweater I plan to make one for myself. Mine will be in a different color just like in the picture. I shall take a picture of us and we will be just as cute. This is going to take a bit longer than I thought even thought I am knitting like a mad woman. There is a lot at stake. I have a $10.00 wager with John as to whether I can finish this sweater before he gets discharged. I am starting to think that he is going to win. I will not go down without a fight! So...P3...C6B...P4...faster! faster! Ho! my needles are smoking!

You knit like a mad woman, Chris. I can smell the smoking needles from here. LOL

That's lovely, Chris. A complicated pattern, too. I don't do patterns that complicated generally. Right now I'm working on a baby afghan that is k4, p4 across for 6 rows, then p4, k4 for 6 rows. It makes a kind of checkerboard. I keep purling when I should knit and end up going back a row and a half to fix it. I don't even want to think about where my cables would be wandering to. lol

I have had to go back more than once on this sweater when I am not paying attention. I have all those little rings on the needles to mark the pattern changes and a row counter on the go. Still...I manage to forget to mark the row or I forget to cable when I should. I make sure to check each row to avoid having to go back to far. I love knitting afghans.

Wow...That is a lovely sweater and pattern! I've never been able to pick up knitting. I tried learning from a book, but ended up sticking the needles right back into the roll of yarn :(

I hope John wins!

Jientje: He will be insufferable if he wins. He will probably frame the ten dollars.

Jientje: Actually, I could put up with a bit of insufferable and even frame the ten dollars myself if that means he will be able to come home very soon.

WOW! That knitting stuff is just to complicated for me. I tried crocheting once. It didn't work.
I too hope in one way that john wins.Only if it means that he gets out sooner than planned. But I really hope you get it done so that he can wear it when he comes home. Pretty soon it will be too warm out to wear sweaters. I guess you could wear your matching sweaters to go camping.
Keep those needles smokin' Chris.

Sue: I can't crochet either. Knitting is easy. If you want I can get you going.

Now where is that fridge of yours?
You sure asked me an awful lot of questions, huh, Christine? That building is not in Belgium, but in Goult, in France! Why they leave their curtains hanging out the window? I would not know, I think it's some kind of French "nonchalance"! It used to be the post-office, so that made it important way back when, now it's just a normal house, so that makes it less important now. And the doorstep tells of many many footsteps...

ohhh! You're not posting your fridge, well, neither am I!!

I am hoping that I get out before the sweater gets done as well. Ten bucks will look good in my pants, but a new sweater, made by my Beazley, would look pretty good on my back. And this is a good looking sweater. I, of course can't lose here. I get the sweater, regardless, and maybe ten dollars into the bargain. Go Beazley!!!!

Great looking sweater. I'm making an Aran for my girlfriend's grandson. I had to tell someone because I can't put it on my blog. She reads it. Give John a hug for me.

So impressive! I have NO IDEA how anyone can knit a sweater! I just worked my way up from a scarf to a neck gaiter. ;)
