I Wish You A Happy New Year

I wish you a Happy New Year and hope you all survived New Years Eve without having to suffer too much today. Hahaha! John and I did make it until midnight before we had to go off to bed. We shared a midnight kiss...Ooolala!...and wished each other a great 2008. We agreed that 2007 was not the best year but even so Gods grace covered us and continues to do so. We have much to be thankful for.

We have a lot of hope for the New Year. While we know that our lives will never be the same as they were before the cancer we do know that we can have a new normal that has a happy flow to it. We have had glimpses of this when John has been feeling O.K. Two thousand and seven felt like a year that our lives were on hold most of the time...so much waiting. We are still waiting but soon I think we will be able to resume our lives according to the rules of our new normal. We hope to travel. We hope to visit friends and family who live in other cities. We hope to putter with our hobbies. Most of all we hope to regain health. I hope to loose weight and resume my regular exercise regime. John hopes to build up his strength and regain some of the muscle mass he lost. We do have a lot of work ahead of us in 2008. Time and abilities are a blessing. So often in the past I have taken these gifts for granted.

In the New Year...may you count your blessings. A thankful heart is a content heart. In the New Year may you appreciate everybody around you... it is human nature to want to be appreciated. May you feel secure in the love of others. May the New Year never find you without hope... without hope your heart will fail. In the New Year may you consider your Creator...He gives a lot of thought and time to you. Every good thing comes from the father of lights. In the New Year may every good thing come your way.

WE begin this year with much hope and the confidence that God is going to do great things in your family and the greater extended family. May we all learn from the past and take those things and do our part to change the future. I do pray that this year will bring many wonderful things into your lives.

A verse for you today:

Jeremiah 29:11
I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out--plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.
