Final Stage of Treatment

John has been admitted into the hospital and the final stage of his treatment for Multiple Myeloma has begun. He received a large dose of chemical therapy this morning. They allowed him to come home for the afternoon and evening. He may be able to come home on a day pass tomorrow as well. Monday he will receive his stem cells back. This is a approximately two hour procedure. The transplant team will be in the room for the whole two hours. He will have to stay in the hospital for about four more weeks. I will probably not be posting here very much during this time as it is just too hard for me to focus on anything else. I will be keeping people updated on the John Braun Page which is linked on the side bar. I will keep visiting my blogging friends and family blogs. Hint...Hint... come on you guys...Keep the posts coming...you wouldn't believe it but reading your posts helps me de-stress! (I don't think that is a word) You are all a real blessing to me.

I am going to try to blog something. My life is just so boring that it's hard to come up with something worth blogging about.

Okay, I will! And maybe I'll open that fridge an inch or so next Friday! And maybe I'll come up with something funny, or something ridiculous, anything to keep your spirits up! I am praying that everything goes well, and that your husband will soon be home again safe and sound!

I fully believe you about keeping your spirits up by reading blogs. One of the things that got me hooked on blogging was just that. I have been through a lot physically and emotionally during 2007 and developed a depression as a result. Blogging helps me fight off that depression. I am so sorry that you and your husband have to go through such trials. You are in my prayers, too.

Thanks guys...Sister Sue Q. your life is not really boring, it is just hard to stare at a blank page and think of what to put there. Sometimes the most mundane things are the best. Put up some photos and tell us a story about them and let us see what is in your fridge (on Friday for fridge Friday)...LOL

I have been reading blogs for years, but actually doing it is still new for me. When I was working, it was about the only thing that kept me from screaming those last couple of years. I am committed to blogging everyday so I will try to have something to put a smile on your face. I don't know about that fridge bit though.

I hope everything goes smoothly for John over the next few weeks. I look forward to reading your posts, and will be keeping you in my thoughts...and yes, posting everyday (i hope) even if it's mindless dribble.
