For Pity Sake!

It is snowing like crazy this morning. The snow will probably turn to freezing rain later today. The roads are going to be terrible. We plan to stay at my daughters until Tuesday. I am hoping that the snow doesn't interfere in our plans to go home at that time. John has an appointment at the Cancer Center on Wednesday morning. This will be the first appointment that he has had since his transplant. We are anxious to know from the doctors how they think that John is doing.

We have been having a very nice Easter. We made it to church in Yorkton yesterday morning. That was nice because so many people there have been praying for John this last year. It is kind of like our second church. We feel like we belong there too. Becky didn't tell Ben that we were coming. It was a surprise. John and I got very big hugs from Ben and Sam.

I was thinking back to last years Easter and how John was doing then. He had just been diagnosed and discharged to come home. He only lasted three days at home. When he left the hospital he had three compression fractures and returned with five fractures. He could not sit in a chair or hardly walk more than ten steps by himself. We had to take the seats out of Becky's van and put a mattress on the floor to get him back to the hospital. He was in excruciating pain. I was terrified. Yesterday, he drove the whole trip here, picked up his grandkids, went shopping with us and walked all over the place. I am so thankful this Easter. You can not imagine how thankful I am. What a difference a year makes.

We had great Easter egg hunts both on Saturday with Noah and then yesterday with Ben and Sam. The little chicks were a big hit. I forgot my camera so you will have to wait until their mothers post some pictures.

John just got back from Tims with doughnuts. The kids are still sleeping. They are not early morning risers like us old people. Haha! I am going to go and eat my breakfast. Haha! Yum...doughnuts!

It is amazing what a year can do.
I am so thankful that John is doing so much better and happy to hear that you are having such a great time with your grandkids.
We had a good Easter as well. Friday with the whole family at Margarets and then Sunday with our kids.
We will keep praying for John's continued strength and health.
Love to you all.

I'm so happy for you, everything worked out fine and you can now look back upon that terrible chapter in your life and think ... Thank God, we made it!
What a difference a year makes, indeed! Hugs xxx

Dad went to Tim's in Yorkton. How long did it take him? I hate that place.

You are so lucky. Long illnesses can be so wearing on everyone. I wonder what Doug would be like. I always have to go with him, even if it's just a check up.
I'm glad you had a fun Easter. I hope the weather has improved.

He also fixed my bathtub. That's why they call him "The King". Or anyways, that's why he calls himself "The King". LOL.

I get so happy when I read reports like this on John's health. It really makes me aware of God's loving hand on us every minute of every day. What a different Easter than last year. We will continue to pray for improvement.

I realize as I write that I am posting this comment on the morning of John's check up. I will pray that the doctors have only good news for you.

I will look for an update. Love you both. God bless.

I posted on here right after Jientje. Now I come back and nothing. I think it's time for a new computer.
