Chicken Noodle Soup

What a crummy week. John and myself have cold / flu. While he is feeling much worse than me, I have little energy. Each morning that I get up I hope that I will start to feel better. Each morning I get up feeling exactly the same. Now that we seem to be having the never ending winter we also get to have the never ending cold.

Yesterday I took John in to get blood cultures and chest X-ray. We have not received any phone calls from the cancer center so I sure hope that it means that he does not have pneumonia or anything else cooking. He still has a mild fever. That does not seem to be quite as bad today. He is feeling discouraged. He wonders if he will ever feel healthy again. It is hard to be cheerful when you have a fever.

Today my back started hurting. There is no rhyme or reason for this. I can hardly bend down and pick up anything from the floor. I hope that goes away fast. I really don't need this.

I made chicken noodle soup. Maybe that will fix everything. It sure tasted good! I make the good Mennonite kind. It is seasoned with Ginger Root...Cinnamon Stick...Star Aniseed. The smell alone is therapeutic.

I think that I will spend the rest of the day either reading or knitting. I still have not finished the sweater but am getting so close. I am sorry that I don't have anything very entertaining going around in my head today. This I guess is as good as this post is going to get so...I shall just hit post!

Chicken soup seasoned with star anis, ginger root and cinnamon stick?? Mmmm, interesting,
I wish I could taste it?
I feel every bit as cummy or crappy or whatever you are feeling today, I guess we must have been sisters in a previous life, or we are soulmates now?....
Every muscle aches and picking anything up from the floor hurts like hell! Damn! I have done too much " domestic Godess routine" I think! It's just not healthy!
My hubby is leaving tomorrow morning on a business trip to Germany for four days!!! Aaargh!
I will be lonely, so lonely! *Sob*

I am so sorry that you both are feeling so crappy. Like Sue, the soup sounds lovely, but I'd rather be healthy and eating a bologna sandwich than sick and eating Chicken Noodle Soup. I pray you both feel better soon.

That soup sounds really good. Please post the recipe when you are feeling better. Never-ending winter and never-ending flu is exactly how I feel. The sore back and other aches are, unfortunately, a part of this nasty bug. I hope you both feel better soon.
