Merry Christmas to Me And John

I am tired and ready to fall asleep. I love video clips of small children falling asleep at the dinner table with their faces in their spaghetti or mac and cheese. I bet I would look just as funny with my face on the keyboard. Maybe it could earn some money on America's Funniest. I don't think I have seen one like that yet.

We went shopping today and bought each other Christmas presents. I don't see how we could possibly work it out so that we could have any surprise elements at all. I am too chicken to go out and drive to any of the malls plus John really needed to try on his gift! It looks good. I will post a picture at Christmas. John bought me mine at Barns and Nobles. We had fun. It was a very Merry Christmas shop!

On Friday, the Hickman line is being placed into John's chest. The chemo and radiation starts after that. We won't be gallivanting round for awhile. Today was the last day for that sort of a thing. Tomorrow we have an early appointment with the renal specialist. They want him to be seen so they have a baseline for John. One of the anti rejection medications is hard on kidneys and they have no way of knowing how that is going to turn out. He could end up needing dialysis at some point. I am praying that this will not be the case. He has gone through so much and will be going through even more. To have to go through that to top it all off is just beyond too much.

Well, I had better hit the hay so I can get up in the morning with the alarm clock. Good night sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite and all that...

I know he will do just fine. FabGrandpa was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue in 2001. He had surgery, then had all his teeth removed, then 37 radiation treatments to his mouth and throat. He lost almost a hundred pounds, but he made it through. It took him over a year to get back to "normal" and still has no saliva, but no cancer either.

All that info is just to let you know I know how you feel, and am here to be or offer whatever support I can.

Does that mean Saturday is no good for a visit?
I have the weekend off for a wedding that has been postponed.
Let me know.

Karen: thank you for your encouraging words. Yes...you would know what we are going through. It always picks my spirits us when I hear of somebody who wins the battle. Hope is what keeps us going.

Invisible Mo: We only have one appointment at 1:00 that should only take a couple of hours then we should be free, unless they add something. You could come over and hang out. We could watch some Corner Gas. LOL

I'm praying this will not be the cause Christine, sending you good vibes!
I love that word you used there, "gallivanting". No need to grab a dictionary, I know what you mean!

I would have liked to seen the picture of you asleep on your keyboard!
I am new to your blog and would like to wish your husband the best of luck on his treatment. I can only imagine what you must be going through too. Take care of yourself.

I left a comment on your new post, but you must have removed it? before it posted?
Not sure, but it's gone.
