My Dog Is An Idiot

I am so glad that I did not sign up for blog 365! I am having trouble to come up with a post a couple of times a week! My posting idea for today got kiboshed! Angela was going to run a half marathon and I was going to take pictures and was going to get some blogging material from that. Big sigh! Not that I blame her...training has been a hard go for her this winter and 20 kilometers is a long, long way to run. I can't even run half a block. John got me out of bed early so we would make it to the starting line on time. I now have some spare time on my hands. He is snoozing on the couch. We are going to the western development museum this afternoon. Perhaps that will give me some material instead.

We need to go and refill our ink for the printer. I wanted to scan a picture last night and I could not get that to work. I wonder if this has to do with the cartridge being out of the printer? I hope that is the problem because that would be easy to fix. I hope there is not a problem with the scanner. Every time I tried to scan something a window would pop up spouting some rubbish that I can not understand. I read it twice to myself and once to John. He just gave me a blank stare! After asking him three time "What does that mean? What is this window meaning? What is the problem?" I try to reword my questions hoping for a response! He finally answers "I don' know!" That was spoken with a gruff, can't you bother somebody else voice.

Let us now proceed to the pictorial part of my post . I have choose this sequence of pictures to demonstrate the fact that: My dog is an idiot!

The above picture clearly demonstrates this. It does not require any explanation. The picture speaks for itself. The following pictures demonstrate what he does when he afraid of something. What is he afraid of? Tools! Yes any kind of a tool. We will exclude the human kind. He loves everybody even fools. All you have to do is show him a hammer or a clamp or a drill or a stapler and he goes for the high ground. In this case the high ground happened to be my lap. On Wednesday John was trying to repair some wood trim by gluing and clamping it. This time the dog tried to get in between him the clamp and the wood. He was sitting on the floor at Roscoe's mercy. He finally managed to complete the job by hiding the dogs head under his armpit. That must have been awkward.

But we love them anyway don't we?

I once had a shepherd/husky that thought he was a lap dog. Whenever I sat on the floor, he was in my lap. He had the best bark. It made you blood run cold.

We used to have a doggie that was half poodle, half golden retriever. My daughter is very afraid of storms. Once when it was storming, a sudden clap of thunder sent the dog jumping into daughter's lap for protection. Wish I had a camera in my hand when that happened. It was funny! They were both sitting there shivering.

"I tried to do it and I just got pictures of other people. I must not be doing it right." When I went looking for things at Photobucket I found that I had to add "graphic" to my search frequently. You might try that. A few things I had to re-enter the search terms and re-word them several times.

I had friends, once, who had three Great Danes. They kept them in the kitchen by setting up one of those folding (three panel) fireplace screens. The dogs were terrified of it because once, when they were puppies, one of them knocked it down and it made such a clatter.
It amused me to see those three HUGE dogs held back by one little fireplace screen. Your dog is sweet!

Our dog does that in storms too. If a storm happens at night he gets into bed with you and tries to hide behind you. He does best under a blanket.

I completely understand. I have an idiot at home too. Too bad he has no fear and barks at EVERYTHING!

Your dog is hilarious!

Now I know where you were this afternoon. I came to deliver you long lost suitcase. I knew the way Roscoe barked that you weren't home. I'll being it by next week.

I love your dog. I remember when we lived on the farm as kids and it would storm. Poor Chief would hide under the truck and howl.
