VPX Cordless Power Drill

John is installing the new thermostat for the furnace. He is using his new VPX cordless drill. He is around the corner giving me an ongoing rave about the drill complete with demonstrations as to why this drill is so incredible. "Like you know when you have a drill with a keyless chuk and the armature spins? Well, this one doesn't!!" He drills the air. I nod my head and say "how nice" and "Wow" I have no idea what he is talking about. I am sure he bought the thermostat so he would have a reason to use the new drill.

He keeps having me to come over and see if I can read the little digital writing that is on the thermostat. My eyesight is worse than his. I remarked that maybe if there was better lighting I could read it. This started the search for his new Canadian Tire wind up flashlight. His eyes were sparkling because not only would he be able to use the drill but joy of joys, has a reason to use the wind up flashlight!

The thermostat says that it is 23 degrees C. I think it is wrong. I don't think the furnace has come on since he started this procedure. I don't have the heart to tell him. I am going to go and put a warm sweater on now.

Moans and sighs are being emitted from over there where the work is happening. Not good. Ohh-Ooo! Now we are seeing what happens. He says he would hate to have to put the old thermostat back in although it would give him another chance to get the drill back out.

I can just hear him in the background, "Hey Beazly. This is an AWESOME drill". Did he get it for his birthday? How old is that "owla pog"? Do you remember when you used to call him that when you were still dating and early in your marriage? I think Orlah taught you that one little German phrase and you used it on him lots. Funny.

Men and their toys. You gotta love 'em. It's not at all the same with women and their machines - that's serious business!

I got him the drill for Christmas. Owla or Umpya Brun is 54 years old today.

Sounds like something Doug got. He kept yammering on and on the whole time he was putting up the ceiling fans. I went to the back room and started sewing. One noise for another.

Well..the new thermostat works. Tomorrow he will probably be looking for something else to drill. LOL

LOL. Dad and tools. They go together like salt and pepper, bread and butter, Sammy and Roscoe, Ang and Spitz.

(I left the wind-up flashlight on the sewing machine downstairs.)

Oh, I can picture that one too!! Every time my husband needs to do some DIY job around the house, he goes out to buy new tools! He has a collection of everything you can imagine!

Oops, forgot to tell you about the lace! I can do that too, although I'm very very very out of practise now, but I took class several years to learn it! But now that I am a blogger, there's no more time, so it would not be very realistic to want to take that up again!

Ah yes, the joys of men and their new toys ;) My hubby gets the same way whenever he brings home something motorized and shiny from Home Depot!

Thanks for stopping by and claiming your hands. I'm so glad they are yours. Now I have to find mine. I know my hands are smooth and youthful looking - no chicken feet here!
