I Love a Good Contest

Check out the contest at dabooklady's recipe site. You can win prizes! Yes...prizes! Its not hard to enter. Simply answer a few fun questions and add a favorite recipe. After everybody enters then perhaps you will be able to find a new favorite recipe. This is a nice way to share recipes. I am going to add another recipe here because it really is one of my favorites!

When John and I were engaged, the first time we went to meet his parents, his mom served these homemade cookies. I don't know how many I ate! I was afraid she would think I was a greedy girl! They were sooo good! They are just a simple oatmeal raisin cookie but have just the amount of crunch that I like...melt in your mouth crunch. Yum...I made some yesterday. I am having trouble keeping Mike out of them. LOL

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. margarine
i egg
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. flour1 1/4 c. oatmeal
Raisins (as many as you like)

Mix margarine and sugar and cream them together. Add egg and beat. Add dry ingredients. Mix well. Roll into balls. Place on cookie sheet. Slightly flatten the cookie balls with a spoon. Bake at 350F until golden brown.

We LOOOOOOOVE oatmeal raisin cookies here. Not sure if the name fools my husband into thinking they're not as bad for him as others, but as the baker in the house....I know better. I still eat'em up though ;)
